Nostalgic House Wife 11×14 Print

Description

This 11×14 collage print explores the transition between women as house wives to women as war wives and, now, work wives. The imagery of women during the 50’s and before is perfect but disturbing. Pristine but fake. Their lives look so simple and beautiful. I imagine them getting together in the afternoons playing cards while eating homemade chocolate cake, their husbands working away in an office somewhere and their kids playing games in the street. Too bad that idea is all romance and no reality.
